Figma AI Design Agent
Figma's native AI agent designs alongside you on the canvas — with Skills that carry your brand conventions into every file.
Figma's in-house AI design agent (beta May 2026, rolled out to all users around Config 2026) works directly on the Figma canvas: generating layouts, editing designs, and building on your existing components. The Config 2026 wave added Skills — reusable instructions that teach the agent your team's brand and design conventions — plus Connectors to external tools, MCP-compatible Figma Motion exports, and generative plugins. Built in partnership with OpenAI and Anthropic models.
What it does
Figma’s agent designs with you, not for you: it generates and edits directly on the canvas using your team’s actual components, styles, and libraries. Skills let you encode brand conventions — spacing rules, tone, logo usage — so every agent-generated frame comes out on-system instead of generically pretty.
What you get
- Native AI agent on the Figma canvas, live for all users
- Skills that carry team and brand conventions into every file
- Connectors that extend the agent to external tools
- Figma Motion with MCP-compatible exports
- Powered by OpenAI and Anthropic frontier models
Why it matters
Brand teams’ biggest AI fear is off-brand output at scale. Figma’s answer — agents constrained by your design system — makes brand systems the moat. For marketing teams producing social, ad, and campaign assets in Figma, this is the difference between AI drafts you rework and AI drafts you ship.
